Tragedy struck near Ahmedabad airport early Thursday morning as an Air India flight bound for London crashed shortly after takeoff, carrying 242 passengers and crew members. According to preliminary statements from local authorities, there are currently "no signs of survivors."

The aircraft, reportedly a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, took off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport but lost contact with air traffic control within minutes. Emergency teams rushed to the crash site, which is located approximately 8 km from the airport in a sparsely populated area.

Ahmedabad Police Commissioner addressed the media, stating grimly: “Given the intensity of the crash and debris scattered across the area, we fear there may be no survivors. Rescue operations are ongoing, and we are awaiting updates from NDRF and aviation authorities.”

Firefighters, NDRF teams, and local police have cordoned off the area. Eyewitnesses described a terrifying scene: a loud explosion, plumes of smoke, and parts of the aircraft ablaze on the ground.
